Due to popular demand here is a second edition of The Stone Roses Colouring Book. This edition has been "remixed and remastered" and contains new illustrations as well as "remastered" ones. It comes in an edition of 40 copies 16 of which have already gone. As with the previous edition it is signed by the artist and is A4 in size. Available here

This years Christmas Card designs are available in two different sizes. Above are the A5 (210mm x 148mm folded) versions sold separately. As with all Piper Gates Design cards they feature a unique blurb on the back to add to the visual experience or (as it is that time of year) Christmas spirit.

Following on from last years Christmas Cards it was decided to issue some more this year. Above are the A6 versions, the Morrissey & Marr and Small Faces Cards have been "remixed" with a new slant whilst The Stone Roses and Jam designs have been adapted from previous designs and now have a extra Christmas "feel" to them. The cards sized A6 (148mm x 105mm folded) and are available in a pack of 8 cards featuring two designs per subject.

The latest subject of Piper Gates Design limited edition birthday cards is The Jam. Set in the "Sound Effects" era (though Bruce and Rick look like they've walked off the sleeve of "News of the World") the card shows Bruce and Rick at their amiable best with Paul brooding in a way that only Paul Weller can. Of course Bradley isn't partaking in this years Tour De France but here’s the next best thing – a Bradley Wiggins Greetings Card. Based on the popular Bradley Wiggins Paper Doll the greetings card is blank inside making it ideal for any occasion – you can even use it as a get well soon card to Chris Froome! The card is A5 in size and printed on high quality 250 gram card.

Subterranean 85 - 86

Recently I re-digitized some old cassettes of Primal Scream. The tapes captured their early brilliance as a post punk version of The Byrds or Love where they accidentally created a sound which would later be expanded upon by The Stone Roses. A cover was needed for this project so it was decided to capture the subject and the time which the recordings were made. To do this it was decided to present the contents as a bootleg album from the time complete with badly pasted on covers and wrong song titles.

George Spiggott

The Peter Cook and Dudley Moore tour de force Bedazzled has been a favourite of Piper Gates for a long time (see here and here). Deciding to look at the subject with a different approach it was decided to incorporate the pop art visuals of the Stanley Donen film with the design of Dudley's beloved jazz albums. It was then presented in the look of a lost novel and available as a limited edition of thirty 30cm x 40cm prints here.

Based on the very popular Quadrophenia Poster from a couple of years ago this very limited edition A5 greetings card is available for one week only. The inside of the card is blank giving the opportunity to be used for a variety of occasions and also has a unique blurb on the back.

The Is The One

As a follow up the coluring book from a couple of years ago it was decided to create a Stone Roses Birthday Card to add to the growing “Cult Birthday Card” collection. Taking influence from the majestic Fools Gold era it was decided to create a design which represented the different characteristics of each member therefore showcasing the group as a whole. Ian Brown as the confident mystic, John Squire the quiet artist, Reni in mischievous mode and Mani the smiling heart of the band. The limited edition A5 card is available here.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending Brit Sci Fi here in sunny Leicester. Primarily I went to hear a talk and meet my childhood faves The Tomorrow People. Regular readers will know of my love for the Tomorrow People and with that in mind I decided to create a poster for the attending TP’s to sign.
